Hello, I’m Shafiq!

I don't fix people. I help them see clearly — then build.

I work with high-performing professionals who have built something real but feel the pull toward what's next. Not because something went wrong. Because they've outgrown where they are — and the thing that keeps pulling at them deserves a real plan, not another year of circling.

My path to this work wasn't linear. It was deliberate — shaped by movement, reinvention, and learning how to build forward when there was no existing roadmap.

Five cities. Multiple chapters. Layoffs I didn't see coming and pivots I chose on purpose. Born in Alabama, raised in California, then New York City, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, San Jose — each city a full rebuild. New environment. New network. New identity constructed from scratch.

Not one of those moments broke the trajectory because I learned early that the vehicle doesn't define the destination. The noise, the setbacks, the uncertainty — those are part of it. You stay above it. You keep climbing. You keep building.

That operating system is what I bring to every session.

THE GLOBAL STAGE

For over twenty years, I led strategic creative direction and trend forecasting for major global brands — including a decade at Giorgio Armani. My work was built on one discipline: cutting through the noise to identify what's emerging before it becomes obvious, and translating that signal into clear, decisive action at scale.

That kind of pattern recognition isn't intuition. It's a practiced skill — knowing what matters, what's a distraction, and where to move before the window closes. The same lens I applied to global brand strategy, I now apply to the professionals navigating their own crossroads.

The context is different. The methodology is identical.

BUILT ALONGSIDE — NOT INSTEAD OF

I founded IN MOTU — a professional-grade sustainable activewear brand — conceived while working full-time. I was mapping it, developing it, living alongside it mentally — the way most of my clients sit with their idea before committing. When the layoff came, I didn't treat it as a setback. I took it as the signal to commit and start building.

I pioneered sustainable materials and performance-first design years before either became industry standard. That experience isn't a credential on a slide. It's proof of concept behind everything I help clients do.

The parallel path isn't a compromise. It's the strategy — and I've walked it under the same conditions my clients are standing in right now.

THE OPERATING SYSTEM — PERSONAL DISCIPLINE

Health, movement, and discipline have been constants in my life — not as an identity, as a practice.

Knee injuries in junior high forced me to retrain my body as a teenager. That experience — rebuilding after a physical setback, learning to sustain performance through adversity — taught me something that applies directly to every client I work with: momentum isn't built on willpower. It's built on structure, consistency, and the decision to keep going when motivation fades.

I've maintained structured fitness and wellness practices for over a decade — working with top trainers, studying performance, and approaching physical discipline the same way I approach every other domain: with intention, not impulse. In my 40s, I train harder and think more clearly than I did at 30 — not because the effort is greater, but because the systems are right.

That lived discipline is in the room every session. Clients feel it.

IN THE ROOM AND IN THE FIELD

Beyond one-on-one work, I've led groups, facilitated conversations, and created community in environments where people needed direction, energy, and a reason to move. I understand what it takes to hold a room — and to help people inside it find their own clarity without telling them what to think.

That experience shapes how I coach. I don't lead from a script. I lead from the room — reading what's needed, asking what matters, and moving toward the real thing faster than most people expect.

WHY THIS WORK

Everything I've done — the global career, the entrepreneurial build, the cities, the setbacks, the rebuilds — has been preparation for exactly this.

I understand the discipline required to succeed at a high level. I understand the frustration of outgrowing a life you worked hard to build. And I understand the specific kind of courage it takes to commit to what's next when the path isn't fully visible yet.

That's what I bring. Not theory. Not a framework borrowed from someone else's playbook. A map drawn from a life that has actually been through the terrain.

HOW I WORK

I work with a small number of clients at a time — by design. This work requires full attention and genuine investment from both sides. I'm selective about who I take on, and I expect the same seriousness in return.

You don't need more motivation. You don't need fixing. You need someone who can help you cut through the noise — so the thing that's been pulling at you finally becomes something real.

That's where we start.

Based in the Bay Area. Available virtually, nationwide.

No pressure. No hype. Just clarity, truth, and the spark to get moving.
